This is my third edition of this list and I’m hoping it will be my most accurate one. 2023 NBA Power Rankings (10/11/22)
With training camp wrapping up and preseason underway, rosters are mostly solidified across the league. That means it’s time for my 2022-23 NBA preseason power rankings. My rankings are based on a combination of predicted regular season and postseason success (with playoffs holding more weight) and take into account roster talent, fit, and past successContinue reading “2023 NBA Power Rankings (10/11/22)”
How Good Are the Portland Trail Blazers? (7/10/22)
On Friday superstar point guard Damian Lillard signed a massive two-year, $122 million extension, committing to Portland through the 2026-27 season. While I’m not surprised by his unwavering loyalty, it had me thinking about the ceiling of this Trail Blazers team. First, you have to believe that Dame can be the guy on a championshipContinue reading “How Good Are the Portland Trail Blazers? (7/10/22)”
How Jerami Grant Fits in Portland (6/22/22)
Just a day away from the NBA draft, we got our second major trade of the off-season. In exchange for a 2025 first-round pick and the rights to select 36th in this year’s draft, the Portland Trail Blazers landed Jerami Grant (and pick 46). Grant, who broke out in a bigger role during the 2020-21Continue reading “How Jerami Grant Fits in Portland (6/22/22)”

Top 100 Players of the 2021 Season (9/19/21)
The biggest (also my favorite) article of the year is finally here. My top 100 players of the 2021 season. It took me a while to put this together. I started with around 150 players, and cut it down to 100 ( actually it’s 110. I have ten “honorable mentions”, which makes this a topContinue reading “Top 100 Players of the 2021 Season (9/19/21)”
Detroit Basketball, Baby! (6/23/21)
And the first pick in the 2021 NBA Draft goes to… The Detroit Pistons! Congratulations Pistons fans! I’m happy for you. The first pick is really big for a team whose franchise player was Andre Drummond for most of the decade. All signs point to Cade Cunningham being the number one selection. Although I’m notContinue reading “Detroit Basketball, Baby! (6/23/21)”
What’s Next for the Portland Trail Blazers? (6/5/21)
Another first round exit for the Portland Trail Blazers. That’s unfortunate. Losing to a Denver Nuggets roster missing their second best player is not the way that Portland wanted to go out. Damian Lillard definitely didn’t want to lose. Over the six games, he averaged 34 points and 10 assists while shooting 45% from three.Continue reading “What’s Next for the Portland Trail Blazers? The Future of the Oklahoma City Thunder (3/15/21)
The first trade of the season went down a few days ago, with the Thunder trading away a good young player, Hamidou Diallo, to the Detroit Pistons. Hami was averaging 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists before he got traded, all career highs. He was also shooting career highs from the field (48%), fromContinue reading “The Future of the Oklahoma City Thunder (3/15/21)”
